The materials for this art project are SO simple. You could even turn this into a collage instead of just the drawing and coloring. Either way, the free templates included in this post will definitely help!

Begin by tracing the head and praying hands templates onto white paper. Position the head toward the top of the paper and leave a little separation between the chin and top of the hands. Add two vertical curved lines for the neck then draw downward curved lines from the neck to the bottom of the paper for the body with black crayon or pencil.

Using Kwik Stix or oil pastels or crayons, draw the hair. Press down hard to get a bold bright color that covers the top of the head.

​Using a skin colored crayon, color the the face, neck and hands. Make sure to draw a straight vertical line dividing the hands and lines for the sleeves.

Color the clothes with Kwik Stix

​Draw eyes, nose & mouth with crayons. Add a gold halo around the head with the Kwik Stix. We also added pink cheeks with the Kwik Stix for more embellishments.

Cut out the portrait & set aside. Take the other white paper and draw clouds to fill the space with light blue Kwik Stix. Color in the negative space between the clouds.

Glue the saint & brush on some watered down school glue or Mod-Podge around the saint and sprinkle some glitter. Shake off excess.

​That’s it!

My kindergartener loved coloring this worksheet to make her Saint Self-Portrait in a snap! A great option if you don’t have time to complete the whole art project or want to save it for another time.
