If Lent becomes just another season that passes by,
your children may miss the invitation it holds—to slow down, to reflect, to notice Jesus drawing near.
And when Easter comes, it can feel rushed… disconnected… like something important slipped through your fingers.
But imagine this instead:
Your child begins to recognize the stories they hear at Mass.
They remember the Gospel because they created something with it.
They associate Lent not with pressure or confusion—but with quiet joy, prayer, and beauty.
Each week, art becomes a moment of stillness.
A space for conversation.
A way to help them prepare their hearts for Easter—one small, meaningful step at a time.
And that’s exactly why the Holy Lent Art Course was created.

The Holy Lent Art Course is a 7-week guided journey through Lent for children ages 5–10.
Each week includes a full-length art class taught by Marisa, rooted in the Sunday Gospel, and designed to help children slow down, reflect, and prepare their hearts for Easter through creativity.
"My 7 year old said he “only wanted to learn about Jesus” with Miss Marisa! All of my kids (4.5 year old twins and 7.5 year old) love bringing up Jesus and the elements of the faith they remember from their art projects!"
— Amanda L.

For a long time, I felt that tension myself. I wanted my children to understand what we were entering during Lent—not just “give something up,” but recognize it as a sacred season of preparation, prayer, and drawing closer to Jesus.
When my own reversion to the Catholic faith happened, everything changed. I began to see the liturgical year differently—not as something to get through, but as a gift meant to shape our hearts over time.
I realized that children don’t need more explanations or pressure. They need space to encounter the faith in a way that’s tangible, meaningful, and beautiful.
As both a mom and a trained art teacher, I began creating art lessons rooted in the rhythm of the Church—lessons that invite kids to slow down, reflect on Scripture, and respond creatively.
That’s the heart behind everything I create at Little Holy Hearts—and it’s exactly why I designed the Holy Lent Art Course: to walk with families through Lent in a way that’s creative, intentional, and deeply faith-forming.
"I've been searching and searching for the right way to teach my kids about all of this while still trying to learn it myself. This is EXACTLY what I needed. THANK YOU!"
— Megan L.
